Anna Campbell

Washington, DC

I’d love to join the board to support this inclusive community that has restored my love for running through its encouraging, positive environment. I’m eager to promote group runs, support each member’s goals, build connections among runners, and help establish Light Horse’s presence as a leading force in the running community.

Natalie Daniels

Fredericksburg, VA

I want to be a part of creating something unique in the DMV. LHTC is the only team in the area that has sponsorships, individual coaching, and group runs without time standards. I believe this creates the best kind of environment for success – I see LHTC as a place where anyone with excitement and commitment can grow and excel as an athlete.

Liz Gilden

Reston, VA

I have skills navigating group environments, inspiring others, and leading successful teams through my experience as a professional athlete and coach. Most recently, I served as co-president for the DC Triathlon Club Elite team for 4 years. As a board member, I hope to build inclusivity and diversity throughout the running club.

James “Jimmy” Luehrs

Arlington, VA

My role on the board would be to help make the vision and goals of Light Horse TC a reality; through engagement of members and the outside running community, and by setting an example of culture and values.

Sabrina Zator

Falls Church, VA

I want to serve on the LHTC Board to actively contribute to the club's success, engage with fellow members, and strengthen our connections with local organizations and sponsors. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.

We are using rank-choice voting!

See below for information on how rank choice voting works. For a demo and more informatoin, head here.

How do "rounds" work?

A "round" is the process of determining if there's a ranked-choice winner, and, if not, eliminating the lowest vote getters.

In Round 1, all first-choice votes are added up. If no choice gets a majority in Round 1, then the lowest vote getter is eliminated. Anyone who voted for the eliminated choice has their vote count for their next ranked choice in the following round. This continues for as many rounds as are needed to determine a winner.

How was “votes to win” calculated?

For single-winner contests, it’s all about getting to majority support. That means 50% of the vote plus one. There were 54 voters in this contest, so the number of votes needed to win a majority is 28.

How did the eliminations happen?

Ranked-choice voting is about determining which choice has majority support. If no choice gets a majority outright, the lowest vote getter is eliminated. Those who voted for the eliminated choice have their votes redistributed to their next highest ranked choice in the following round.

How are ties handled?

If two (or more) choices have the same number of votes at the end of a round, RankedVote looks at how all voters ranked each of those choices. The choice with the least support amongst all voters is eliminated.
